How-To
Manage privacy and sync
Control local content, iCloud sync, and privacy choices.
Before you start
- Open app Settings for in-app choices.
- Open Apple system settings for iCloud, notifications, and app permissions.
Choose storage and check sync
- Choose the intended Cloud Storage option in Settings → Services. iCloud is native sync; On My Device keeps the planner local. External file providers are export destinations, not a replacement live sync service. Follow any restart instruction when changing storage.
- Manage iCloud availability for myDailyTasks in Apple system settings.
- Use Settings → Services → Cloud Storage → Sync with iCloud, or the iCloud section on Watch, to save pending changes, check the account and retry when iCloud is unavailable.
- Verify the changed item on the other device. Background updates are supported, but Apple controls transfer timing.
If iCloud is unavailable
If the app is saving locally because iCloud is unavailable, keep your local data and retry Sync with iCloud after checking account availability. Confirm the actual record on the other device before treating the retry as delivered.
Optional privacy controls
To stop alerts, disable notifications in app settings or system settings. This is optional and is not needed for sync.
Review the website privacy choices page for a consolidated checklist.
Reset preferences or delete data
Use Settings > General > Data Management when you need to reset preferences or permanently delete planner data.
Read the Reset settings or delete all data guide before choosing either action. Neither action is a sync troubleshooting step.
Confirm the setup is working
- The storage choice and account status match your intent.
- A test edit can be located on the intended second device when delivery completes.
If devices diverge, confirm every device is signed in to the same Apple Account and iCloud is enabled for the app. If changes have not arrived, connect both devices to the internet and open myDailyTasks on each. On iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, allow Background App Refresh in system settings; force-quitting the app or low power settings can delay background updates, and Mac has no equivalent switch. Apple controls transfer timing, so there is no guaranteed refresh interval.
