How-To
Reset settings or delete all data
Choose the correct data-management boundary before resetting preferences or permanently deleting planner data.
Before you start
- This how-to applies to the unreleased version 1.1 Build 11 candidate.
- Open Settings > General > Data Management.
- If you may need the planner data again, cancel. Delete All Data cannot be undone or recovered by myDailyTasks.
Steps
- Choose Reset All Settings when you only want preferences returned to their defaults.
- Read the Reset All Settings warning, then choose Reset Settings only if planner data, custom tags, calendar rules, the active storage location, and purchases should remain.
- Choose Delete All Data only when tasks, rituals, 90 Day data, completions, history, custom tags, calendar rules, pending medication handoffs, and local Blood Pressure Check links and tokens should all be permanently removed.
- Read the first deletion warning, including the iCloud sync consequence, then choose Continue or Cancel.
- At the final Permanently Delete Everything warning, choose Delete Everything only after confirming the data is no longer needed. This action cannot be undone or recovered by myDailyTasks.
Confirm the setup is working
- After a settings reset, planner data remains and preferences return to their defaults.
- After permanent deletion, the listed planner and pending companion-handoff data is removed while App Store purchases and records already read or accepted by myBPhealth remain separately managed.
If you are unsure which action to use, cancel. Reset All Settings is for preferences; Delete All Data is the permanent data-removal action. When iCloud is the active store, deletion can sync to your other devices.
