How-To
Use Daily Planning
Place open activities, appointments, and tasks from tags associated with Work onto a concrete timeline for the selected day.
Before you start
- Open Daily Planning from the app's planning surfaces.
- Use Settings if you want to change the visible day range or Work Day hours first.
Steps
- Choose the day from the week selector in the Daily Planning header.
- Review the timeline range and the unscheduled Activities tray.
- Drag an open activity, meal chip, or existing scheduled card to the half-hour slot where it belongs.
- To change a saved task's start date, drop it onto a visible future date or choose a date from the task menu.
- Tap an empty future slot to add an appointment or meeting with a duration and recurrence.
- Use Populate Work Day to schedule open tasks from every tag associated with Work into available weekday work slots by priority.
- Adjust scheduled task duration in five-minute increments. Tasks shorter than 30 minutes use a compact timeline block, while longer tasks keep the larger standard presentation.
- If a task uses part of a half-hour, the remaining minutes stay available for reuse.
- Use the Task Queue date label to distinguish Today from tasks scheduled on another date.
- Move a completed timeline task back to the Task Queue without losing its completion or selected date; its time and time-dependent reminder are cleared.
- When a task spans several blocks, complete only the selected block or complete the whole task when prompted.
If a slot cannot accept a drop, check whether it is in the past, outside the configured Daily Planning range, or already occupied by scheduled work.
