How-To
Plan around your calendars
See selected commitments and review how tasks fit around them.
Before you start
- Set up the calendar account in Apple’s system Calendar settings.
- Premium is required for Optimise Day and calendar event task actions.
Steps
- Open Settings → Daily Planning → Calendar Commitments and choose Connect Calendars. Allow full Calendar access; write-only access cannot read existing events.
- Enable Show Events in Daily Planning and choose the calendars under each account. Repeat permission and selection separately on other devices, including Watch.
- Review fixed event blocks and any overlapping tasks, allowing for duration and travel.
- For a clash, review the offered move time, Return to Queue or Decide Later. Use Optimise Day or Repair Day for a broader proposal and review all changes before applying it.
- Use Plan for Event to prepare, travel, recover, follow up or create a task from note text you explicitly select.
- Review calendar changes before adjusting linked tasks or confirming that their reminders should be disabled.
Confirm the setup is working
- Selected events appear on the intended day as fixed commitments, separate from task completion and totals.
- Turning off Show Events in Daily Planning hides the overlay without deleting source events.
If no events appear, check Calendar permission and the selected calendars on that device. Direct Google or Microsoft sign-in is not provided inside myDailyTasks.
