How-To
Configure reminders
Use daily summaries, task-time reminders, and important-date reminders intentionally.
Before you start
- Allow notifications for myDailyTasks in Apple system settings.
- Add a task time if you want a task-time reminder.
Steps
- Build 48 internal TestFlight: Task Start Assistance is optional and off by default. Enable it in Settings > Reminders after reviewing the example. Choose a five-, ten- or fifteen-minute lead, up to three advance reminders a day, quiet hours, private previews and sound.
- Pause assistance for an hour, today, until a chosen time or until resumed. Existing task and routine reminders keep their own controls. Denying permission leaves the planner usable. Ordinary reminders respect Focus; Apple controls delivery.
- Open Settings and enable the daily summary reminder if you want a planning prompt.
- Set the daily summary time.
- For a specific task, assign a scheduled time.
- Enable Reminder at task time only for tasks that should notify you.
- Use Calendar Rules for important-date reminders when relevant.
- Review Daily Planner alerts separately in Settings. Enable only the planning prompts you want, and check system notification permission if alerts are missing.
- Watch Transition Reminders require the latest Watch app and Premium. They have separate quiet hours, a daily limit and pause controls.
- Review notification sound and content visibility separately. Hidden task content is useful on a locked screen; system Focus can silence notifications even when app settings are enabled.
- Completing an occurrence cancels its current reminder. Later repeating occurrences keep their own reminders; reopening or editing should be checked against the new intended time.
- Daily Planner alerts relate to occupied planning slots. Review them separately from daily summaries, task-time reminders, Calendar Rules and Watch transitions.
Confirm the setup is working
- Only the reminder types you selected are enabled, with the intended times and visibility.
Task-time reminders are off by default because tasks do not require a time; confirm both the task time and reminder toggle are set.
