Simplify the Watch and set up Next Action
Choose one task, readable text and useful Smart Stack information without changing planner data.
Before you start
- Use the latest myDailyTasks app on both your Watch and paired iPhone.
- One task at a time requires the Premium Watch dashboard. Calendar detail requires full Calendar access and Show Events on the Watch.
Steps
- Open Watch DisplayFrom the Watch dashboard open Watch Display. Enable One task at a time for a simpler next-task view. Its Options menu offers Show full dashboard when you want the complete list again.
- Adjust readabilityEnable Larger text if wanted. The app respects a larger system text-size choice. Hide progress figures removes totals and percentages from the dashboard and Today's Tasks complication while preserving tasks and recorded time.
- Add Next Action to Smart StackFrom the watch face, turn the Digital Crown to Smart Stack. Touch and hold to edit, then add the myDailyTasks Next Action widget from the available widgets. Pin it if you want regular access. WatchOS chooses when suggestions appear.
- Choose calendar visibilityConnect the Watch calendar and enable Show Events first. Then enable Calendar in Smart Stack in Watch Display to include the next commitment. Turning this on does not request or grant Calendar permission by itself.
- Return to the taskRead the one open task and its planned time, then tap to continue in the app. Open the app after planning changes if the widget looks stale; system refresh is not immediate.
Confirm the setup is working
- One-task mode changes information density without deleting other tasks.
- Hiding progress removes figures but leaves completion history intact.
- Calendar details appear only when all three choices—permission, Show Events and Calendar in Smart Stack—allow them.
If no task is ready, check today's open tasks and access level in the full dashboard. Smart Stack ordering and refresh are controlled by watchOS. Larger text and system accessibility settings remain available independently of one-task mode.
