Set up subjects and coursework
Create a subject and save your first coursework task with its own work date and deadline.
Before you start
- The current version of myDailyTasks on iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch.
- Active Study access is required to create subjects, topics and Study tasks. Premium is not required.
Steps
- Open More → Study on iPhone, the Study planning button on iPad or Mac, or Study from the Apple Watch dashboard.
- Choose Add Subject, give it a name and colour, then use Add Topic to organise work within that subject.
- Choose Add Study Task and select the type of work. Set a planned work date, optional time and duration, and a separate deadline where needed. Add notes, a resource link or reminders using the task's planning controls.
- For an assignment, use Add Assignment Step or Schedule Study Session to break up the work. Move planned work when needed; its original deadline stays in place.
- Save the coursework and confirm it appears in Study and on its planned date in the daily planner.
Find and maintain coursework
Use the Show filters for today, deadlines in the next seven days, overdue work, completed work or results still awaited. This Week summarises planned work and minutes; it is not recorded timer time.
Edit or archive subjects and topics as your courses change. Existing coursework stays connected. Study tasks are one-off coursework records; use separate dated sessions rather than trying to turn an assignment into a repeating task.
When the work is ready to submit
Follow Study Results & Revision for submission, recording a mark or feedback, and creating a reviewed follow-up study task.
Confirm the setup is working
- The coursework appears in Study and the daily planner as the same task.
- Moving the planned work date leaves its deadline unchanged.
If you cannot add new Study work, check Study access rather than Premium. Existing coursework can still be read, edited, completed and given results after expiry. Study does not calculate GPA or course averages, connect teacher accounts or import school systems.
