How-To
Submit coursework, record results and plan revision
Keep submission, grades and follow-up study as separate decisions.
Before you start
- Open Study on iPhone, iPad, Mac or Watch and select existing coursework.
- Recording results on existing work remains available after Study expires. Creating follow-up tasks requires active Study access; Premium is not required.
Steps
- Record submission explicitlyWhen you hand the work in, choose Mark Submitted on the parent. For other coursework use Mark Completed. Reopen Task reverses completion when needed. Moving a planned work date leaves its separate date-only deadline intact.
- Find work awaiting resultsIn the Study dashboard use Show to find results still awaited, or combine Subject and Topic filters and search the title or notes. Submitted work can await a result without remaining overdue unfinished work.
- Record or Edit ResultChoose Result Type: a numeric mark, grade or pass/fail. For a mark enter Mark and a positive Out Of value; add Feedback and Areas to Review if useful. Save, then check the result in the original task. A result does not complete or reopen the task.
- Plan Follow-up StudyOpen the follow-up action to create an editable revision draft with the original subject, topic and feedback. Review its title, work date, duration and notes. Save adds new work; Cancel leaves the planner unchanged. Saving a result alone never generates revision tasks.
Confirm the setup is working
- The assignment and its child steps keep independent completion states.
- The original result and feedback remain after a follow-up is saved.
- Existing Study records are retained independently of the ordinary completed-task retention setting.
Correct a rejected numeric result rather than changing completion to force it through. Check Study access if a new step or revision draft cannot be saved. Study does not calculate GPA, course averages or connect to school systems.
