Set up high-pollen day reminders
Set up Pollen Alerts with your chosen area and understand its daily reminder behaviour.
Before you start
- The current version of myDailyTasks on iPhone, iPad or Mac.
- Pollen Alerts requires its own subscription, separate from Premium.
Enable and check Pollen Alerts
- Open Settings → Weather and find High-Pollen Medication Reminders. View Pollen Alerts Plans shows the separate monthly and yearly choices.
- With Pollen Alerts access, enter City or area for pollen and choose Use Area, or choose Use Current Location and respond to Apple's location permission prompt. Typing an area alone does not start a lookup.
- Read the area and service disclosure. The service receives rounded coordinates and an Apple-signed subscription proof; medication details and task content are not included.
- Use Check Pollen Now and read the returned status. One forecast update is allowed every 24 hours across your devices, so repeated checks may reuse the saved result.
- A fresh high or very high forecast adds one Take allergy medication as planned task for that day. Repeated checks do not duplicate it. The task will not carry over to a later day.
Change your area
After changing area, read the displayed allowance and forecast status. The shared 24-hour update limit may mean the new area must wait; repeatedly tapping Check Pollen Now does not reset it.
Use the generated task
Complete a generated task only as a checklist for your existing plan. Its completion does not record a dose in Apple Health or myHealthRoutine. Optional iCloud can bring the task to Watch; pollen setup and forecast checks stay on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Stop checks or cancel your subscription
Turn off High-Pollen Medication Reminders to stop future checks. Existing tasks remain available. Manage or cancel the subscription separately in your Apple Account; turning the switch off does not cancel billing.
Confirm the setup is working
- The saved area matches your choice, and a fresh high/very high result creates no more than one task for that day.
An unavailable, stale or failed forecast is not a low-pollen result. Check the displayed status and area, and use a named area if you do not want location access. Checks run while the app is active; a closed app is not guaranteed to create a reminder.
